2009-2010 School Registrations!

Thursday was a very big day at our house this week! Both Hayden and Hailey were scheduled to register for their classes.
It started out with having to get up early to get Hayden to his. Registration happened to fall on the same day as my Christian Living Bible Class so we had to work it out. Hayden's times were from 8 a.m. until noon to register. Since we have to leave for my class at 9:30, Hayden and I thought we would get there early and have plenty of time! Well, I think the rest of the 6th grade parents had the same idea!
I was so surprised at how many people were there. It ended up taking us almost an hour!

Here is Hayden ready to go! He was pretty excited about it, I am sure. He won't let it show too much because he is a tough and cool 6th grade guy!

This was after registration and he was a lot more relaxed! He didn't want to do this but thankfully there was a break in kids coming and going and I could take it where he wouldn't get caught!
We had a good time and I am excited to see how he does in the Middle School environment. He is such a smart boy and he is starting cello this year!

We made it to the Bible Class just fine and even had a little down time in the afternoon to prepare for the behemoth registration and the new high school that Hailey will be attending. It is Rocky Mountain High School and it is HUGE! I just refer to it as "the mall", Hailey knows what I am talking about. There will be around 2,300 kids in the school this year!
I took this picture from the floor that Hailey's locker is on. In the far distance the entry is on the left and if you go straight ahead you can get to the auditorium! I think I am experiencing vertigo!

Here is Hailey trying out her combination! Isn't that always like a little initiation thing . . . how many times you have to try it before you actually can get it open? I can't remember how many Hailey had to do! She found out that all the Freshman and Sophomores get the bottom lockers and the top are for Juniors and Seniors. This could be a bad thing. Have you ever been hit in the head by a locker door? It can happen!

This is near the entry way!

Tyler had reached his limit of calmness, he was now getting into "interesting" mode! He started to play this game where he was pretending he was "being one with the wall" - No, I don't really know why! Always entertaining! Can you find Tyler?

Outside the entry and into the heat! It was a baking 90 something degree day, did I mention my air conditioning doesn't work in my car?

Tyler again being one with the wall . . . If you look really close you might be able to see him waving!

Here's Pat! She was my trusty assistant! I needed her just in case I couldn't take being in the school environment anymore???? It was fun to have her.
Did I mention to you that when we were registering Hailey I was approached by a girl and asked if I would like to join the dance team? Yes, I wanted to give her the biggest hug and then give her a coupon for a free eye exam! Poor kid had to have needed glasses or else they have some pretty rough looking seniors this year!

The front of "the mall"!

This last shot I just couldn't help. I am always amazed by what you end up bringing home from these sorts of events! All last year and continually in the school system you are always hearing about paper shortages, Reuse, Recycle . . . We didn't even take every paper that was offered or available to us but this is what we ended up with after both registrations! (Tree huggers, look away)!

Well, we did it! We survived 6th grade and 9th grade registration! This is going to be a crazy year with 3 kids in 3 different schools with 3 different schedules. But, I am excited for them because they are all excited! Tyler was pre-registered from last year. All we need to find out now is who his teacher is! I sure hope he gets a calm, patient teacher who LOVES to hear long, intricate stories!
BRING ON THE HOMEWORK!
